Bankia and government of Navarra sign framework agreement to partner on developing FP Dual vocational education and internship programme
23 September 2016Navarra president, Uxue Barkos, and Bankia’s chairman, José Ignacio Goirigolzarri, signed a framework agreement at the Palace of Navarra this Friday to work together on developing professional training, especially the FP Dual vocational education and internship programme, in the chartered community.

The Navarra Business Confederation (CEN) and Bankia will promote professional training through a programme of support for job creation, as explained in the “Agreement to boost business competitiveness”. The agreement was signed in Pamplona by Bankia’s chairman, José Ignacio Goirigolzarri, and the CEN’s president, José Antonio Sarría Terrón.
Bankia Fintech’s incubator and accelerator will take over Base 2 in the Port of Valencia

Spain’s first fintech incubator and accelerator, promoted by Bankia and managed by Innsomnia, will be located in Base 2 of the Valencia Marina. The public consortium that manages the Marina has today officially confirmed that Innsomnia has been allocated the building following a restricted public tender process that ended on Tuesday 20 September.

Goirigolzarri made his comments at the closing event of the business conference entitled “Future challenges for companies in eastern Madrid: innovation, digitalisation and internationalisation” that was held in Alcalá de Henares in the Region of Madrid and organised by the Madrid Business Confederation (CEIM), the Confederation of Employers and Industries of Spain (CEOE) and the Henares Employers’ Association (AEDHE).
Bankia selects 15 start-ups to incubate and accelerate and will create a Fintech Club for all of the program’s candidates

The Bankia Fintech by Innsomnia program has completed its stage to select the start-ups for incubation and acceleration. However, it is increasing the number of initially selected fintech start-ups (companies that combine finance and technology) from 10 to 15 due to the excellent quality of the candidates, which will all take part in the program promoted by Bankia and managed by Innsomnia.

Bankia has been selected to join the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), which recognises the bank as one of the most sustainable companies in the world. Only 27 banks around the globe form part of this index (of which only ten are European, including three Spanish banks), which evaluates the financial, environmental and social performance of different companies.
Bankia increases its mobile banking users by 21%

Bankia has increased its number of mobile banking users by 21% year-on-year. The average number of customers that used this service per month during the first eight months of 2016 totalled 784,000 compared to 650,000 for the same period the previous year.
