  • The project rewards the achievement of business goals of its employees by allocating subsidies to social projects selected by them
  • Bankia has supported projects of different associations and NGOs that have benefited 18,500 people in the region last year.
  • The 'Red Solidaria' programme fosters labour integration, services for people with disabilities, local development and relief in situations of poverty and people at risk of marginalisation, among others

Bankia has invested 550,00 euros through the 'Red Solidaria' programme in supporting a total of 73 NGOS in the Comunidad de Madrid after bank employees succeeded in meeting their objectives last year.

More than 18,500 people have benefited in the region from the projects on a wide variety of issues, such as job integration, caring for people with disabilities or care for people in poverty and at risk of exclusion.

Through this project, the bank supports NGO initiatives with an allocation of 1,000 to 10,000 euros per year, depending on the percentage of business objectives achieved.

Bankia's Deputy General Director of Personal Banking, Eugenio Solla, said that "the 'Red Solidaria' program is part of Bankia's identity, because the work and effort of Bankia's employees in the community is rewarded with support for the projects they decide".

"This program is very special to us, it allows us to demonstrate the professionalism and social commitment of all the bank's professionals and to commit to similar charitable projects", he highlighted.

Bankia has three regional offices in the Community of Madrid, headed by Juan Luis Vidal (North), Juan Antonio Zaragoza (East) and Julio Martín (South-West).

In 2018, Bankia allocated nearly 2 million euros to support, through 'Red Solidaria', a total of 275 NGOs whose programs have benefited 86,000 people throughout the country thanks to the fact that its employees met business goals.

Bankia

Bankia consolidates and reinforces its commitment to society through five priority lines of social action: employment and training, housing, local and rural development, disability and the environment. The financial institution focuses its social investment on these areas and maintains its commitment to society through the involvement of its entire structure and professionals. The Corporate Social Responsibility policy is all-encompassing and approachable, as it links the social actions of the bank with its business in the areas in which the professionals themselves find socio-economic problems and vulnerable groups.
