Bankia continues to strengthen the structure of its asset management business, which operates under the Bankia Asset Management brand name and which basically includes the activity of pension plans and investment funds.

The Division of Equity, Mixed and Employment Investment Funds, led by Augusto Caro, has reinforced its team with the incorporation, during the second half of the year, of three new managers with extensive experience: Berta Ferdinand, Carlos de Andrés and María Rivas.

Berta Ferdinand and Carlos de Andrés join the Employment Plans Division, headed by Enrique Blasco. They have direct responsibility for the different employment pension plans managed by Bankia Asset Management and participate, together with the investment and mixed pension team, in the strategy and asset allocation for the different risk profiles.

On the other hand, María Rivas joins the Equity Funds Division as an analyst, led by Víctor Santiago. She is responsible for examining the IPOs that take place on the market and for carrying out special analyses, for industries and companies.

The Division of Equity, Mixed and Employment Investment Funds is one of the three pillars of the Investment Division of Bankia AM, led by Sebastián Redondo. The other two are the Portfolio Management Division and the Fund, Fixed Income and Guaranteed Funds Division.

"In an environment of negative interest rates and globalised markets, in which changes are taking place at high speed, it is essential to strengthen the management teams with specialised and experienced professionals who can obtain returns for the savings that our customers entrust us" , says Augusto Caro.

Professionals with extensive experience

Berta Ferdinand holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos and holds the EFPA certificate of Financial Advisor. She has more than 10 years of experience in the asset management area as manager of investment funds and mixed and fixed-income pension plans. Carlos de Andrés holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from the Autonomous University of Madrid. In addition, he has a Master's Degree in Financial Markets and Alternative Investments issued by Spanish Stock Exchanges and Markets (BME), as well as the MFIA certification. Last June he successfully passed level II of the CFA certification. He has 4 years of experience in the industry, having worked as an investment manager in the fund management and selection department of Allianz-Popular.
