Bankia and the Caja Castellón Foundation have launched the 'Call for Social Action 2019' for the fifth consecutive year, 100,000 euros to support social projects in the province, with special attention paid to projects that promote employment.

The call for aid from the Caja Castellón Foundation and Bankia is aimed at non-profit organisations that carry out their activity in the province and whose projects are focused on training and guidance aimed at employment, rural development or improvement of the quality of life of people with disabilities or other groups at risk of social exclusion.

The call will support projects for a minimum amount of 2,000 euros and a maximum of 8,000.

Applicant entities can register through the Fundación Caja Castellón website and the Bankia en acción website and submit their application online. Projects can be submitted between March 1 and March 29.

The entities and projects selected in the 'Call for Social Action 2019' will be announced in June.

Last year's edition supported 39 projects that have benefited more than 6,917 people in vulnerable situations.

Signature of the annual agreement

This call is the main initiative in the annual agreement signed this Friday by the president of the Caja Castellón Foundation, José Quereda; Bankia’s Castellón South Area Director, Vicente Miralles; and the coordinator of the General Direction of Communication in the Valencian Community of Bankia, Isabel Rubio.

Bankia gives 65,000 euros to the Caja Castellón Foundation this year with the aim of supporting programmes by associations and foundations for social purposes in the province that will be managed jointly by both entities.

Bankia’s Castellón South area director underlined that "with the signing of this agreement, Bankia maintains its commitment to Castellón and channels part of its social responsibility lines through the Caja Castellón Foundation". "With this agreement, we continue with our objective of bringing our social action closer to launch local projects that improve the daily life of the citizens in the province”, Navarro pointed out.

The president of the Caja Castellón Foundation said that "this is the result of the understanding of two institutions such as the Caja Castellón Foundation and Bankia, which have been collaborating for five years in the creation of this program that allows the support of different social and welfare projects".

"We contribute our little grain of sand and we undertake the promotion of the important work carried out by the associations of our province on a daily basis and, in addition, we give visibility to their work," said Quereda.

The agreement also includes the start-up in the next few weeks of an environmental impact program in the province of Castellón.
