  •  'Afedes en Movimiento' will assist 20 people who are unemployed, in or threatened with a situation of social marginalisation, as well as elderly people and people with functional diversity on the island of Tenerife.

Bankia and the Caja de Canarias Foundation support the 'Afedes en Movimiento ' project by the Asociación para el Fomento de la Formación, el Empleo, la Información y el Desarrollo de Norte (the North Association for Training, Employment, Information and Development - Afedes). This initiative works to improve the job prospects of unemployed people through personalised job placement itineraries, providing them with tools for employment, fostering autonomy, empowerment and job positioning.

'Afedes en Movimiento' will assist 20 people who are unemployed, in or threatened with a situation of social marginalisation, as well as elderly people and people with functional diversity on the island of Tenerife.

The phases of the project form a personalised itinerary to achieve social and labour market inclusion of these individuals.

The first phase, 'Reception and Interview', analyses each person's situation to understand their needs and expectations and to put together a social and employment profile of project beneficiaries. The second is 'Development and Monitoring', which includes two actions: 'Guidance and awareness raising' and 'job seeking, intermediation and monitoring'.

As part of the 'Guidance' action, four employability workshops are being held for job placement and active job seeking: job seekers kit, cover letter, CV, European CV and video resume, group and individual job interview skills and online job searches. Among the 'Intermediation and Monitoring' actions, businesses are targeted with awareness-raising activities to encourage adoption of equal opportunities policies and to promote the social and occupational placement of project beneficiaries; and searching for and processing job offers. Weekly follow ups with the company inform the foundation how the offer is going, and beneficiaries are monitored to get feedback about interview performances and to correct weaknesses.

The 'Evaluation' will be carried out in the third phase of this project, which will include surveys with people who take part in the training activities and job workshops.
