  • The financial institution awarded the first prize to Foss, a family-owned company committed to creating solutions for the food and agricultural sector
  • Interoleo Picual Jaén received the second prize at the 19th edition of the awards

At the 19th International Olive Oil and Allied Industries Fair, Expoliva 2019, Bankia handed out the main 'Technical Innovation' award to Foss, a family-owned company committed to creating solutions for the food and agricultural sector, for its 'Olivescan 2’ project.

At this, the 19th edition of the event, olive oil producer Interoleo Picual Jaé won second prize for its blockchain security seal.

Bankia’s area director in Jaén, Ana Guzmán, participated in the award ceremony, as did the General Manager of Foss, Miguel Ángel Martínez, and Luis Viedma and Francisco J. Guillén from Interóleo, who accepted the awards on behalf of their companies.

The 19th edition of the ‘Technical Innovations Award' is sponsored by Bankia and recognises the originality, perfection and economy with which these entities work.

"The olive sector and its related industries are strategic to Bankia, which is why we want to be very present, supporting it both from a financial perspective and by developing and incorporating new technologies for farmers, cooperatives, manufacturers, marketers, communities of irrigators and companies dealing with agricultural machinery, mining, plant health products, nurseries and irrigation”, said the corporate director of Bankia in Andalucía, Joaquín Holgado, as the jury announced its decision.

Holgado also thanked the Fundación del Olivar for organising Expoliva and "the promotion and coordination of these Innovation prizes, which are so necessary to foster development and research in such an important productive sector for Jaén and Andalucía".

At the award ceremony, the area manager of Bankia in Jaén underlined that "at Bankia we are happy and pleased to participate and to be at this edition of Expoliva because it demonstrates our commitment to the agricultural sector and, on this occasion, to the olive sector and its related industries ".
