  • The initiative aims to improve and promote the employment of people who have difficulties accessing the job market, and those who are in danger of, or in a situation of social exclusion

Bankia and the Fundación Cajamurcia are supporting a driving license course run by the Jesús Abandonado Foundation. The initiative is aimed at improving and promoting employment and is intended for people who have difficulty accessing the job market, and those in danger of, or in a situation of social exclusion.

The course consists of 180 hours of theory and practical training aimed at helping twelve people looked after by Jesús Abandonado Foundation’s Employment and Training Centre to obtain the B1 driving license.

The training is aimed at improving their chances of finding a job because the entity detected that people who visit the Foundation were not able to apply for jobs for which they were qualified because they did not hold a driving license.

The training, which takes place at the Jesús Abandonado Foundation’s Employment and Training Centre, is part of the “Call for proposals for social action 2019”, run by Bankia and the Fundación Cajamurcia.

The “Social Action 2019” contributions in the Murcia Region are aimed at projects whose purpose is to foster local development and employment, both through training and guidance as well as by improving the quality of life of people with disabilities or other groups at risk of social exclusion.

Thus, Bankia makes a priority contribution to nine of the 17 SDGs, including decent work and economic growth; industry, innovation and infrastructure; action for climate, and affordable, clean energy.
