Fifth consecutive year of the 'Aid to Social Action Projects 2019’ call

Bankia and the Fundació Caixa Castelló allocate 100,000 euros to support the social programmes of 41 associations in the province

Bankia and Fundació Caixa Castelló have paid 100,000 euros to 41 Castellón associations that have submitted their initiatives to the 'Aid to 2019 Social Action Projects' call for proposals at a ceremony that took place today in the Assembly Hall of the Fundació Caixa Castelló Building with the attendance of the entity's chairman, Juan Antonio Llopis; the zone manager of Bankia in Castellón Sur, Vicente Miralles; Castellón North area manager, Cielo Falcó, and the vice-president and deputy of Social Welfare of the Regional Government of Castellón, Patricia Puerta.

The beneficiary non-profit associations and NGOs will start their social and welfare-related social projects to promote employability and create new jobs, as well as projects regarding vocational guidance and training, early care, disability and rehabilitation and social reintegration against poverty and inequality and local development.

These projects are mainly targeted at people that have difficulties finding a job, young people, long-term unemployed people and dependent people.

"We are here today thanks to the cooperation between two institutions, Fundació Caja Castellón and Bankia, which have already collaborated and organised this program for four years. This program helps social projects, contributing to the important duty that you, the associations, carry out daily", said the chairman of the entity, Juan Antonio Llopis.

For his part, the zone manager of Bankia de Castellón Sur, Vicente Miralles, underlined that "this event is an example of Bankia’s commitment to society. We will always be supporting the associations and organisations in the province of Castellón that are working, day after day, to improve the quality of life for citizens and especially for those who need it most".

This year’s call for proposals, the fifth one launched by Bankia and the Fundació Caixa Castelló to promote initiatives among the associations of Castellón, received 68 submissions.

The selected projects are being developed by the following entities:

  • CASDA Citizens’ Association against AIDS in Castellón.
  • Domus Mariae Residence Association.

  • Fundación Secretariado Gitano.
  • Association of Families and Deaf People in Castellón Province.
  • Association Group-Union for Integration of people with disabilities ACUDIM.
  • Càrites Interparroquial de Castellón.
  • Asociación Quisqueya ONG de Onda.
  • Fundacio Tots Units.
  • Fundación DASYC.
  • Payasospital.
  • Fundación Amigó.
  • Castellón Multiple Sclerosis Association.
  • Asociación Española contra del Cáncer - Castellón.
