  • The 17th edition of the ‘Coopera ONG’ programme is aimed at non-profit associations in the Comunidad Valenciana with initiatives in favour of groups in vulnerable situations and the population of developing countries
  • The deadline for submission of candidates, which may receive up to 15,000 euros, is open until 17 April

Bankia and Fundación Bancaja have opened a new edition of their call for aid aimed at developing projects in the fields of social exclusion and international cooperation.

The ‘17th Edition of the Fundación Bancaja-Bankia Coopera ONG Call for Proposals’ has a budget of 400,000 euros to finance initiatives of non-profit organisations in the Comunidad Valenciana, which, in the field of social exclusion and international cooperation for development, incorporate participation of citizens and work to eradicate poverty and social exclusion.

The call focuses on groups that are extremely vulnerable in the Comunidad Valenciana (long-term unemployed, families without resources and children, the homeless and immigrants, people with addictions and incarcerated and ex-prison population), as well as population in developing countries.

The application for aid, for which the deadline for submission is 17 April, may not exceed 15,000 euros or exceed 75% of the total cost of the project.

Applications for the call for proposals can be submitted by all private, non-profit organisations that originate from citizen initiative and have their headquarters or a permanent office in the Valencian Community. Such organisations must be at least three years old, and their purposes must be socially-oriented or be of general interest.

The submitted projects will be subsequently evaluated and the granting of aid will be made public within three months after the deadline for submission.

With the aim of facilitating participation for the organisations, the submission of applications is available exclusively in electronic format via an online form that can be found on the Fundación Bancaja website. Those interested can also consult all the information and the complete terms and conditions of the call on the Bankia website.

In 2018, this programme of Bankia and Fundación Bancaja granted aid to a total of 44 organisations within the Valencian Community. There were a total of 32 selected social exclusion projects and 12 projects in the field of international cooperation.

Bankia consolidates and reinforces its commitment to society through five priority lines of social action: employment and training, housing, local and rural development, disability and the environment. The financial institution focuses its social investment on these areas and maintains its commitment to society through the involvement of its entire structure and professionals. The Corporate Social Responsibility policy is all-encompassing and approachable, as it links the social actions of the bank with its business in the areas in which the professionals themselves find socio-economic problems and vulnerable groups.

Fundación Bancaja

Bancaja Foundation develops, in addition to the ‘Convocatoria Coopera ONG’ and the ‘Convocatoria Capaces’, social action activities that bring culture closer to vulnerable groups such as art workshops for the elderly, disabled and at risk of social exclusion or exhibitions carried out by these groups within the field of social awareness.
