Bankia supports Casa Caridad with 50,000 euros to combat exclusion in the Comunidad Valenciana

This collaboration is another example of the social commitment that the organization maintains to help the most disadvantaged people in society, and in this specific case with children.

  • The president of Casa Caridad, Luis Miralles, has acknowledged that "thanks to the involvement of Bankia with this type of donations and agreements we can open the doors of Casa Caridad twenty-four hours a day".

Bankia supports Casa Caridad with 50,000 euros to pay for the rations of the soup kitchens of the association for a month, as well as Christmas gifts to more than 150 vulnerable school children during the holiday season.

Bankia’s contribution will make it possible for the association to provide more than 1,000 servings of daily food in its soup kitchens, both lunch and dinner, as well as hand out bags with food and sandwiches.

On the other hand, this collaboration will also be allocated to the acquisition of Christmas gifts for children studying at the Casa Caridad Nursery Schools.

The agreement was signed at the Casa Caridad headquarters by Bankia’s Corporate Regional Director in Valencia and Castellón, Jaime Casas; the coordinator of the General Direction of Communication in the Comunidad Valenciana, Isabel Rubio; and the president of the Casa Caridad Association, Luis Miralles.

The president of Casa Caridad extended his gratitude for "the involvement and continued support of Bankia to our association. "Thanks to institutions like this, NGOs can be open all day every day to care for the most disadvantaged while they reintegrate into society," he said.

Bankia’s Regional Corporate Director stressed that "this collaboration is another example of the bank’s commitment with the Comunidad Valenciana and with the most disadvantaged people in the region."

"Our support is expressed through associations that, day by day, work to improve the quality of life of people at risk of social exclusion and even more so during Christmas," said Jaime Casas.

Bankia, 'Company with Gold Value'

The president of Casa Caridad has remarked that “businesses, regardless of their size, are essential for social organizations to provide a decent life for people at risk of exclusion." For this purpose, Casa Caridad has created the 'Companies with Value' badges for all the companies that collaborate each year with them to maintain their services.

"Bankia is an example of a 'Company with Gold Value', an institution that is committed to the common good and helping those who need it most," said Miralles, who added that the bank "has shown its commitment to our project since 2014, with annual contributions and other extraordinary contributions to collaborate in everything we have needed such as the donation of 60,000 euros for the adaptation and furnishing of the Benicalap Social Multi-centre ".

Casa Caridad

Casa Caridad Valencia is a private charitable institution, declared of public usefulness, dedicated to meeting the most basic needs of homeless people and people at risk of social exclusion. Currently, its services include soup kitchens, shelters, nursery schools, daycare centres, hygiene and health programs, leisure outings and housing and employment programs. In addition to the headquarters, the charity has a Social Multi-centre in Benicalap (Valencia) aimed at providing services to ill people and dysfunctional families. Each year it distributes more than 300,000 food rations, its shelters host more than 30,000 homeless people and the nursery schools take care of 150 children between 1 and 3 years old. Through these services, the Department of Social Work supports social reintegration with personalised follow-up. It has a team of almost 300 volunteers. In addition to its own centres (headquarters at Paseo de la Pechina, Benicalap's Social Multi-centre and Torrent's Children's School), the Association manages another soup kitchen in Valencia.

Dualiza Bankia, the brand through which the Bankia Foundation for Dual Training carries out all its activities to raise awareness about vocational training, launches the third edition of the Sanec program in the Valencian Community together with the La Fe Research Institute of Valencia, the Príncipe Felipe Research Centre, the Foundation for the Promotion of Health and Biomedical Research of the Valencian Community, and the Incliva Health Research Institute.

The Sanec program will create scholarships for 35 students enrolled in the first year of Vocational Training health care degrees. The training has to be carried out in public and private educational centres of the Valencian Community authorized by the Regional Government of Valencia for the dual modality of the following degrees:

  • Clinical and Biomedical Laboratory
  • Health care documentation and administration
  • Diagnostic imaging and nuclear medicine
  • Pathological anatomy and cytodiagnosis

The scholarship students will be part of groups or platforms of the research centres through a scholarship that will take place during this and the next school year. It will have a maximum remuneration of 4,000 euros for 1,000 effective hours of work, and will contribute to Social Security.

The scholarships can be applied for before February 23 and the results will be announced as of March 26.

Sanec seeks to bring health care students closer to the world of biomedical and clinical research by including them in research groups or the scientific technology platforms of health research centres.

The objective is raising awareness about the importance of the vocational training senior technicians in work teams. The purpose is to reach a similar model to other European countries where research teams are understood as multidisciplinary groups with differentiated profiles but complementary academic, scientific and technical knowledge features.

This is the third Sanec call promoted by Dualiza Bankia in collaboration with Valencian research centres after its debut last year. On that occasion, Sanec received a total of 188 requests for 23 positions.

Bankia supports the Caja Segovia Foundation with 102,000 euros with the aim of developing social projects in Segovia. The agreement aims to contribute to the promotion of employment and rural development in the capital and the province, as well as to improve the quality of life of people who are unemployed, disabled or at risk of social exclusion. In addition, as a novelty this year, it includes actions related to the environment and cultural projects.

The agreement has been signed in the Tapestry Room of the Lozoya tower, headquarters of the Caja Segovia Foundation, by Bankia’s Regional Corporate Director in Castilla y León, Lola Peñas; and the president of the Caja Segovia Foundation, Francisco Javier Reguera. In addition, the area director of Bankia Segovia Centro-Sur, José Gabriel Encinar; and the director of the Caja Segovia Foundation, Rafael Ruiz took part in this event.

The main initiative of the agreement signed between both entities is the '2019 Call for Social Action', for the fifth consecutive year, which will financially support the projects of non-profit organisations working around Segovia, in areas such as training and employment guidance, the development of the rural environment or the improvement of the quality of life of people with disabilities and groups at risk of social exclusion.

In addition, the 'Call for Lending of Spaces for Activities’ will be launched. All non-profit organizations with a social or cultural focus in Segovia that want to hold educational, informative or cultural activities can attend at the Caja Segovia Foundation Hall.

In addition, the agreement will allow for the implementation of environmental actions developed by Segovia’s third sector in the province and opens Bankia's collaboration on cultural issues in collaboration with the Caja Segovia Foundation.

Bankia’s Regional Corporate Director in Castilla y León stressed that "the agreement is aimed at highlighting Bankia’s focus on the associations of Segovia and our commitment with projects that are absolutely necessary for the development of the people of both the city and province of Segovia".

For his part, Francisco Javier Reguera stressed that "the Caja Segovia Foundation considers this agreement a very significant support with which to develop their vocation of service to Segovia".

Dualiza Bankia turns to the Region of Murcia with 3 courses that start for Vocational Training students

Dualiza Bankia, the brand of the Bankia Foundation for Dual Training through which it carries all its activities to promote and raise awareness about Vocational Training, has started three additional training courses in digital skills and foreign trade with the collaboration of the Regional Government of Murcia.

In total, 70 students will benefit from a training course that will allow them to adjust their profile to two highly in demand sectors.

The courses will be taught at the IES Albares de Cieza-Ditec high school and Comex- and at the CIPFP Carlos III de Cartagena- Ditec-.

Training in digital skills will last for 60 hours, some of which may be taught online. Students will learn about the latest trends in web development.

For its part, the Comex, in foreign trade, will allow students to receive 90 hours of additional training, 60 face-to-face and 30 online, focused on solving practical cases through the Comex Bankia Campus.

This training course will provide knowledge on the economic and financial management of international trade, the risks of foreign trade operations and the hedging alternatives existing in the market, as well as how to think about international expansion in a safe and coherent manner.

The General Director of Vocational Training and Special Education Teachings, Sergio López Barrancos, stressed that "once again, the public-private collaboration promoted by the government is the most powerful tool to improve the training and specialisation of our Vocational Training students". He also added that "Fundación Bankia is a clear example of a company committed to Vocational Training and we are delighted to collaborate with them".

Bankia’s Regional Coordinator for Murcia, Ricard Guillem, underlined how the implementation of these courses "shows Bankia’s commitment to the promotion of education and Vocational Training in the Region of Murcia, since they contribute to increasing social cohesion and fighting inequality." In addition, he added that "the additional training provided by Bankia will help students adapt their profile to the needs of the job market, thus increasing their employability options".

Bankia supports CajaGranada Foundation with 850,000 euros with the objective of financing social programs of associations and foundations in Andalucía that will be jointly managed by both entities through three main lines of action: social action, environment and entrepreneurship.

Bankia’s Regional Director in Andalucía, Joaquín Holgado, and the president of the CajaGranada Foundation, María Elena Martín-Vivaldi, have signed a collaboration agreement whereby Bankia shows its commitment to Andalucía and articulates a large part of its social action in this region through the CajaGranada Foundation, which has experience and knowledge of the region.

The agreement includes, on the one hand, the launch in spring of the 2019 call for social action 'We help those who help', twenty-fourth edition, which will finance specific projects of NGOs and social associations with their projects, mainly, in the provinces of Granada, Jaén, Málaga and Almería.

On the other hand, the agreement includes the implementation of a plan to support environmental programs, as well as a support line for activities to promote entrepreneurship in rural areas in Andalucía and local, social and cultural development activities.

Bankia’s Regional Corporate Director in Andalucía has stressed that "working hand in hand with the CajaGranada Foundation is the best way to help improve the quality of life of the groups that need it most in Andalucía." "We think it’s essential to channel these aids through associations and foundations in the region, which are the ones that really know those needs", added Holgado.

For her part, María Elena Martín-Vivaldi, stressed that "we are honored to go hand in hand with Bankia in the development of social, environmental and local development projects promoted by the CajaGranada Foundation". "Thanks to this collaboration, we can devote more resources to collaborate with the associations and NOGs of the region, which are so beneficial to different groups of disadvantaged people and at risk of exclusion."
