  • Bankia focuses its social action towards local projects located close to its work centres and proposed by its own employees
  • The bank supported 275 social projects in 2018, via the Red Solidaria programme, for an overall amount of over 1.9 million euros

Asociación Aenfipa has received the support of Bankia, for an amount of 8,600 euros, for its Comprehensive Care Program for People with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and their families in the Principality of Asturias, whose purpose is to help people affected by these conditions.

Bankia’s contribution is framed within its Red Solidaria programme, by which its branches support a local social project, which they choose at the beginning of the year, if they reach their business targets for the entire year.

In 2018, a total of 275 projects received economic support in excess of 1.9 million euros thanks to the bank’s programme, which in turn benefited more than 84,000 people throughout the country.

Asociación Aenfipa and Bankia have launched the Comprehensive Care for People with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and their Families in the Principality of Asturias projects. The beneficiaries of this project have at their disposal individualised physical therapy treatments, adapted gymnastics, individual and group psychological therapy, neurological rehabilitation, social care, spa therapy, swimming pool, yoga, therapeutic dance, informative talks and healthy leisure.

It has been demonstrated that taking care of the person with a holistic approach way reduces their symptoms and improves their quality of life, which is our main objective.

Red Solidaria

The Red Solidaria programme began in 2013 and since then it aims to acknowledge the efforts made by employees in achieving the business targets through providing support to local social projects, proposed by the employees themselves, with the aim of the bank’s social action being carried out in the municipalities where it has presence.

This way, the bank supports associations, foundations and NGOs that develop social action programmes in these areas and which generate a local impact that is perceptible for its customers and employees.

This is the case of the area management of Cantabria and Asturias. Their employees chose, jointly, to support the project of the Aenfipa Association and obtained an economic endowment of 8,600 euros thanks to the fulfilment of their business objectives.
