The Gran Canaria Basketball Club and Bankia have renewed their agreement in an event that took place in the central court of the Gran Canaria Arena. For the seventh consecutive year, the financial entity maintains the objective of promoting and bringing basketball to all corners of the Islas Canarias through financial support of its activities.

The event was attended by the chairman of the Gran Canaria Basketball Club, Enrique Moreno, and by Bankia's regional corporate manager in the Islas Canarias, Federico Navarro; the director of the Business Centre of Las Palmas, Marcos Oliván; and the director of Media and Sponsorships at Bankia, Alberto Ortega.

The agreement establishes that the financial institution will financially support a program to promote sports during the sports season benefiting all the reserve teams of the C.B. Gran Canaria. These reserve teams were present at the event to take the traditional family photo, and other federated teams and schools will be presented later in the season, during the breaks of two matches of the Endesa League.

Bankia also undertakes to offer advantageous conditions possible to the club in its portfolio of financial products and services, while the C.B. Gran Canaria will use Bankia as its preferential financial institution, thanks to this agreement.

For the third consecutive year, the 'Triple Solidario Bankia' action will take place: Bankia will donate 50 euros for each triple scored by Herbalife Gran Canaria in its Endesa and EuroLeague matches, both at home and away from home. The money collected at the end of the season will go to training projects for the reserve teams.

More than 1,000 children of all categories will benefit from the agreement between the bank and the team. The reserve team of the Gran Canaria Basketball Club will benefit from this agreement, which also includes the prestigious and long-lived Summer Campus arranged by the club.

Likewise, the agreement contemplates the participation of club members in actions related to social integration projects that the bank has carried out in the Islands in the past, such as food collection for the Food Bank.
