The Bankia Symphony Orchestra (OSB) performs this Saturday, November 24, starting at 7:00 pm, at the Manuel de Falla Auditorium in Granada as part of its Winter Season.

The Bankia Symphony Orchestra is a project of the financial institution that aims to spread the musical culture and favour the employment of young musicians. It will give a concert in Granada in which pieces by some of the most important figures in music history will be performed.

The young musicians of the OSB will interpret, under the direction of the teacher José Sanchís, the Coriolan Overture, op. 62 by Ludwig van Beethoven; Cello Concerto No. 1, in C major by Joseph Haydn, and Symphony No. 4 in D minor, op.120 by Robert Schumann.

The Territorial corporate manager of Bankia in Andalucía, Joaquín Holgado, highlighted “the professionalism of the young people, aged between 22 and 31 years old, who are members of the Bankia Symphony Orchestra.” In addition, he drew attention to “the bank’s support to an orchestra that promotes the musical talent of young people, their continuous training and the labour insertion of elite instrumentalists.”

For his part, the musical director of the orchestra, José Sanchís, added that “for the OSB, it’s a dream come true and a great responsibility to perform at the Manuel Falla Auditorium and be able to display the work and musical talent of the young orchestra to the public”. “We’re sure they’ll enjoy the amazing repertoire that we’ve prepared with so much love”, he pointed out.

The Bankia Symphony Orchestra brings music as a universal language closer to all of Spanish society, promoting and spreading its musical, symphonic, lyrical and chamber music activities.

The OSB, comprising a total of 52 musicians specialised in clarinet, double bass, bassoon, flute, oboe, trombone, horn, trumpet, violas, violins, cellos and timbale, offers promotion and support to its members through the professional activity and collaboration of soloists of recognised national and international prestige.

In addition to this concert in Granada, the Bankia Symphony Orchestra will perform this Sunday at the CITE Cartuja Center in Seville, and at the Infanta Leonor Theatre in Jaén on Monday.
