Bankia has finished upgrading the network of former BMN cash machines. More than 860 old machines have been replaced for the latest generation models, comprising 92% of the total network.

Following this roll-out, over 930 cash points at former BMN branches are now equipped with all the latest functionalities.

During the upgrading, a total of 265 machines were replaced in Murcia and 214 in the Islas Baleares, while 249 new machines were installed in Granada and 61 in Jaén.

The new cash machines offer new functionalities and an improved user experience. These functionalities include being able to perform operations with contactless cards, withdraw money without a card using the bank’s app, make emergency withdraws, arrange pre-approved loans, unblock remote banking log-on credentials and update personal details.

“We want our customers to have the best experience when dealing with the bank through the channel they see as being most appropriate in each case. As part of this multi-channel approach, providing cutting-edge cash machines that can be used to perform an increasing number of operations is a priority for us”, comments Elena del Pozo, Bankia’s director of self-service and online channels.

Over 265 million transactions were performed using Bankia’s 5,400 cash machines in 2018, which is 10.5% more than a year earlier.
