Bankia has registered the first case of coronavirus Covid-19 in a central services professional at its headquarters in Madrid, whereby the bank has activated its Action and Prevention Protocol.

For caution’s sake and to maintain active surveillance and care for people, the professionals who work at this office will continue their work through remote means.

Bankia maintains continuous coordination with the health authorities at all times, promptly informs employees through its intranet of the evolution of the coronavirus and offers real-time recommendations from the Ministry of Health. In addition, Bankia medical services are available to employees.

With the aim of carrying out coordinated analysis and monitoring and assessing the impact and the correct development of the different action protocols, Bankia has set up a Monitoring Committee that centralises all the information and adopts the necessary decisions in coordination with health authorities.

Bankia has contingency plans to deal with situations of unavailability of professionals, regarding both branches and central services. Thus, the entity has a plan to divide the teams considered 'critical' by their importance for the normal operation of the bank, with the aim of avoiding contagion.

Regarding actions, all face-to-face training sessions have been cancelled, employees have started to work remotely and it has been recommended to reduce travelling as much as possible.
