  • 20 students from Albacete and Ciudad Real will receive further training in digital skills
  • This is the first time that students from two provinces jointly start complementary training of this nature

Dualiza Bankia, the brand of the Bankia Foundation for Dual Training through which it channels all its activities for the promotion and prestige of vocational training, the Regional Ministry of Education of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha, the Business Association of Campollano (ADECA), and the Chamber of Commerce of Ciudad Real have started a digital skills course for students from Albacete and Ciudad Real.

This is the first time that students from two Spanish provinces have embarked on one of these complementary training courses together.

Specifically, 16 students from IES Leonardo Da Vinci in Albacete and 4 from IES Maestre de Calatrava will receive 180 hours of training in digital skills, during which they will improve their knowledge of digitisation, digital marketing, user experience (UX) and web programming.

At the end of May, they will be recruited into companies in the region to complete their practical training.

The Dualiza Bankia regional coordinator for Castilla-La Mancha, Eva Aguado, underlined the importance of continuing to make progress in projects “that bring student training closer to the reality of the labour market”. For Aguado, “this training is a reflection of the commitment that Dualiza Bankia has with Castille la Mancha and with the promotion of training as a way to move towards greater social cohesion”.

For his part, the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, Ángel Felpeto, has thanked, on behalf of the Government of Castilla-La Mancha, for the commitment of the collaborating entities that allow this course to refine and expand the digital skills of students from these two provinces, adapting the vocational training education to the new demands set by the labour market.

From ADECA, its chairman, Santos Prieto, stressed “the satisfaction of the Business Association of Campollano to promote for the second consecutive year Dual Vocational Training in Castilla-La Mancha, specifically in Albacete, through this project”. Prieto added that “we want to continue working on the same path to enable employers to adapt their businesses to the new digital demands through qualified employee profiles”.

And from the Chamber of Commerce of Ciudad Real, the general director, José María Cabanes, highlighted the importance of collaborating with Dual Vocational Training and said that “Vocational Training is a strategic line of work for the Chamber with the aim of reducing the gap that currently exists between supply and demand in the labour market”. Likewise, this has noted the value of this project both for young people and for the business sector.
