Bankia Foundation for Dual Education and the National Association of FPempresa Vocational Training Schools today launched the first "Ayudas Dualiza" call for applications, targeted at vocational training projects in which vocational training schools, both private and public, work in collaboration with the world of business.

The goal of the call for applications is to promote vocational training initiatives that carry out projects on a shared basis between schools and companies and also to recognise the work done by schools, companies and other institutions that have helped develop and enhance dual education.

Set in the context of the collaboration agreement between the Foundation and FPempresa aimed at promoting dual education, the initiative is also intended to provide incentives for networking and strengthen the culture of participation among the existing players in the new vocational education ecosystem, while at the same time detecting and fostering innovative approaches in this area.

Projects may be submitted by public or private vocational schools in Spain, together with companies and other collaborating bodies. The deadline for applications is 28 February and the selected projects will be announced on 4 April. The proposals received will be assessed on criteria of quality, innovation, impact, sustainability and diversity.

"We want to support projects that promote employability and enhance business and educational competitiveness. To make our students employable, we need a vocational education system that builds competences in an environment that is linked to the productive sector and that has its eye on the future," says Mercedes Chacón, chairman of Bankia Foundation for Dual Education.

"The teaching-learning processes must be in accord with the logic of the new trends and forms of business competitiveness, now and in the future. That is why we are working to ensure that the vocational education system creates spaces in which schools and companies co-create projects," says Luis García Domínguez, chairman of the FPempresa Schools Association.

Dualiza, Bankia's dual education initiative

The 1st Call for Applications for Dualiza grants is part of Bankia's support for dual education as a driver of employability and innovation in the world of work, making businesses more competitive and speeding up the transformation of the education system as it continually updates to meet the requirements of the new economy and of companies.

The bank channels this goal through Dualiza, a programme designed to foster, develop and give greater visibility to Dual Vocational Training, so as to increase its value to society as a driver of employability.

FPempresa
