  • Dr. Moso will speak to 30 European researchers about the progress made by dual vocational training in Spain over recent years, as well as the challenges that lie ahead.
  • The European Commission is organising the European Week of Vocational Training, which will take place from 14 to 18 October in Helsinki, to highlight the benefits of vocational training throughout Europe.

The European Commission has invited the head of the Centro de Conocimiento e Innovación de Fundación Bankia (Bankia Foundation's Knowledge and Innovation Centre), Mónica Moso Díez, to take part in one of the events that will take place during the European Week of Vocational Training, which will begin this Monday, 14 October, in Helsinki.

Moso will take the floor, together with Michael Gessler, professor of Vocational Education and Training, at the Institute of Technology and Education of the University of Bremen, in a working group in which 30 European researchers will take part. In this group, the figure of the apprentice and its relationship with the European framework for quality and efficient apprenticeship training will be analysed.

Moso will focus her speech on the progress and challenges of dual vocational training in Spain; an intervention that will break down the development of a modality implemented in our country just 7 years ago, yet with a notable evolution that has led to some of the cycles that develop it having 100% employability rates.

The European Week of Vocational Training promotes vocational training and lifelong education and brings together education and training providers, researchers, experts, civil society organisations, authorities, business organisations, trade unions and the general public to highlight the benefits of vocational training and publicise opportunities throughout Europe.

Its objectives include changing the perception of vocational training as a “second class” choice despite the fact that almost 80% of young graduates of this training system find employment shortly after finishing their studies.

Dualiza Bankia, Bankia’s dual training initiative

Dualiza Bankia is the brand through which Fundación Bankia por la Formación Dual (Bankia Foundation for Dual Training) conducts all its promotion and awareness initiatives for vocational training and dual vocational training. And it represents the commitment acquired by Bankia to the promotion of education as a way to improve society, combat inequality and promote greater social cohesion.
