Bankia is set double the volume of its personalised advice service to digital customers by 2020

  • The bank predicts it will handle more than €40,000 million with this service in 2020, compared to €21,000 million at the end of 2017
  • Bankia will have two million digital customers by 2020 and will reach close to five million
  • In 2020, more than 65% of Bankia customers will have digital profiles and the bank will make more than 35% of total sales via these channels
  • A total of 43.7% of digital customers interact with the bank with their mobile phone alone, while 38.7% use Bankia Online on both computers and phones and 17.6% connect only solely with their computers
  • ‘Connect to your expert' will end this year with 760,000 customers and will reach 1,100,000 users by 2020
  • The Bankia 'open business' strategy entails establishing agreements with different partners in order to integrate the bank’s products and services in its channels and vice versa

The deputy general director of Retail Banking at Bankia, Fernando Sobrini, explained that the bank’s current distribution model "is designed to provide customers with comprehensive services". The objective is to offer "excellent service via all channels, enabling the customer to select the method that best suits his needs at any given moment. “This is the basis of our strategy," he said, stressing the current demand for multichannel services.
