Covid-19

Bankia and the Fundación Caja de Canarias buy ten 3D printers that manufacture face masks against Covid-19

The financial institution and the Foundation invest 10,000 euros in the acquisition of printers that will produce 2,000 screens per month and that are already installed in the León Pier and the Castle of Puerto de La Luz and Las Palmas.

Bankia and the Gran Canaria Basketball Club raise over 15,000 euros for the Las Palmas Food Bank

The entity, the club and the fans have joined forces in a virtual way to help the most disadvantaged people, especially in this time of health crisis.

Bankia supports Cruz Roja employability programmes with 400,000 euros during the Covid-19 crisis

At Bankia we work to make a mark in society

 

The entity allocated 22.1 million euros in 2019 to meet the most urgent needs in its environment.

Social and Environmental programmes

Together with the original foundations, Bankia supports social and environmental projects that aim at the care and development of vulnerable groups and the fight against climate change.

Bankia and the Bancaja Foundation allocate 150,000 euros to 15 projects for social integration of differently-abled people

Since its implementation, this aid programme by Bankia and Bancaja Foundation has provided support to 74 projects of associations within the Community of Valencia.

Bankia supports Fundación La Caja de Canarias Foundation with 230,000 euros to promote social and environmental care projects in the Islands

The collaboration between Bankia and Fundación La Caja de Canarias will also enable the implementation of socio-cultural activities throughout 2020 and the provision of spaces for NGOs to publicise their initiatives.

Eco-eficiency

The Eco-Efficiency and Climate Change Plan 2017-2020 sets out the path Bankia must follow in order to contribute to reaching one of the 21st century’s most important targets: carbon neutrality by 2050.

Tackling climate change

Climate change is one of the greatest threats facing society. The present and especially the future of the environment of our planet demands an effort of awareness on everybody’s part.

Enviromental risk managment

Bankia considers that its banking activity has a very limited environmental impact. However, the bank has a very significant indirect influence through the production activities and investment decisions of its customers.
